About Me / Who I am?

Who is NeonWolf? Who is behind the mask? I know, I know, there are so many questions. So sit back and read my story. I was born in 1992 in an Italian town near the sea, from an early age I was enraptured by the music my parents listened to but also by the neon lights and arcade video games at the Luna park where I went with them. My childhood was a whirlwind of emotions, I was curious but also afraid of the different, my first approach to music was a toy drum set and a walkman that I jealously carried with me to listen to the songs I loved. Growing up I was laughed at for my inability to play an instrument because of my crooked fingers, namely the Flute, one of the instruments that the Italian School wants me to learn to play even though I often wonder why that very musical instrument. Gradually I tried to extricate my malaise created by a teacher who told my father "Your Son will hate music"  "He will never know how to play" and many other put-downs.

But over the years I overcame this by experimenting and trying to learn different instruments such as drums, the instrument of one of my favorite artists namely Phil Collins, I also played guitar for years accompanying the voice, without ever having studied singing. I have played and sung in different bands doing different genres of music such as Rock, Metal, Glam Rock, etc. I am not only a musician but I have many other passions such as video games, reading, art, movies and much more... but after so many years I decided to face a new challenge, I decided to leave the bands and start a solo project, trying to create evocative music in 80s and synthwave style. This small project was born during the pandemic because of my forced isolation where I could not see any of my closest loved ones and it was also the cure to the depression I was experiencing. My main sources of inspiration in this genre are: RogueVHS, Micromatscenes, Dreamkid, Fm84, The Midnight etc.
